Classic, Flex or Flash: which Kilat Agent fits

Every Kilat Agent runs one of three ways. A Classic agent is always on. A Flex agent and a Flash agent sleep when nobody is using them, and both are included in your workspace plan. It is the same agent either way: chat, Telegram, memory, schedules, skills and the Kilat MCP tools. You pick the run type when you create the agent, and you can't change it later.

The short answer

  • Pick Flash when you want the agent back fast. Resumes in about a second. Shared CPU. Pay for awake time and storage. An awake hour costs Rp 150, Rp 300, and Rp 600 on Small, Medium and Large.
  • Pick Flex when you need steady power. Dedicated CPU. Wakes in under 2 minutes. Storage included. A plan starts at Rp 13,000 per 30 days for 1 agent, Flex or Flash.
  • Pick Classic when the agent must answer instantly, stay connected all the time (Discord, Slack socket mode or email). It costs from Rp 50,000 per agent every 30 days.

Sleep and wake

Flex and Flash agents sleep. A Classic agent never sleeps, so there is nothing to wake.

  • When it sleeps: after it has been idle for the time you set. The longest you can choose depends on your plan: Starter 15 min, Plus 15 min – 2 h, and Pro 15 min – 8 h.
  • What wakes it: a message in Chat, a scheduled task that is due, or the Start button on the agent's page. A message to its Telegram bot wakes it too: Kilat receives the message while the agent sleeps, wakes it, then hands it over.
  • How long a wake takes: a Flash agent resumes in about a second, from a memory checkpoint, where it left off. A Flex agent wakes in under 2 minutes, usually in 60–80 seconds. If cloud capacity is busy either can take longer, and your messages wait meanwhile.
  • What is kept: files, memory, chat history, skills and settings are saved when the agent goes to sleep and restored when it wakes.
  • What it costs: a sleeping agent uses no awake time. A sleeping Flex agent costs nothing; a Flash agent's storage is charged while it sleeps.

The details are in Flex agents and plans.

What each one costs

Flex: a plan for your workspace

A plan is paid every 30 days, from Credits first, then Balance. Each term includes Credits that pay for awake time. An awake hour costs Rp 500 per vCPU plus Rp 75 per GB of memory, counted by the second.

PlanPrice / 30 daysCredits each termFlex agentsAwake time for one agent
StarterRp 13,000Rp 12,0001About 30 hours (0.5 vCPU, 2 GB, Rp 400 an hour)
PlusRp 75,000Rp 65,0003About 100 hours (1 vCPU, 2 GB, Rp 650 an hour)
ProRp 179,000Rp 165,00010About 253 hours (1 vCPU, 2 GB, Rp 650 an hour)

For example, Starter costs Rp 13,000 and includes Rp 12,000 in Credits. At Rp 400 an hour, that is about 30 awake hours for one agent. Plan Credits reset every term and don't carry over. When they run out, Flex agents sleep, unless you turn on pay-as-you-go: then awake time is paid from Balance, up to the monthly cap you set.

Flash: your plan, plus awake time and storage

A Flash agent is included in your plan and counts toward the plan's agents, the same allowance Flex uses. On top of the plan you pay for two things. Awake time costs Rp 150 per GB-hour, counted by the second. Its CPU is shared, so memory is all that is priced. Storage costs Rp 1,500 per GB-month. It is charged by the hour for as long as the agent exists, awake or asleep.

SizeRAMCPU (shared, up to)Awake hourStorageStorage per month
Small1 GB0.75 vCPURp 1505 GBRp 7,500
Medium2 GB1.25 vCPURp 30010 GBRp 15,000
Large4 GB2.0 vCPURp 60020 GBRp 30,000

Usage is paid from plan Credits first. Balance pays only while pay-as-you-go is on; it is off by default. With it off, when Credits run out, Flex and Flash agents sleep and Flash storage goes unpaid. After 7 days unpaid the agent is suspended, and its files are kept. Turning pay-as-you-go on, or adding funds while it is on, pays the debt and brings the agent back. If you use Flash beyond your Credits, turn on pay-as-you-go. Delete a Flash agent you no longer need, because its storage is charged until you do.

Classic: a price per agent

A Classic agent is bought on its own and paid from Balance every 30 days. It never counts against a plan, and awake time is not metered.

SizeRAMCPU (shared, up to)Price / 30 days
Small1 GB0.75 vCPURp 50,000
Medium2 GB1.25 vCPURp 90,000
Large4 GB2.0 vCPURp 170,000

All three run types start on Kilat AI. You can add your own model provider key instead; your provider bills that usage.

Limits to know

  • The choice is fixed. You can't change an agent's run type after you create it.
  • Flex is one size and one region. Flex agents have 2 GB and run in Jakarta. They can't hold a permanent connection such as Discord, Slack socket mode or email.
  • Flex can be interrupted. If the spare cloud capacity it runs on is reclaimed, Kilat saves the agent's state and starts it again, usually within two minutes. An open Chat reconnects by itself.
  • Flash shares its CPU. It gets up to its size's vCPU, shared with other agents, so speed can vary. Pick Flex when you need dedicated CPU. Like Flex, it runs in Jakarta and can't hold a permanent connection.
  • Flash storage keeps running. It is charged while the agent exists, even asleep. If it goes unpaid for 7 days, Kilat suspends the agent until pay-as-you-go is on and the debt is paid.
  • Classic has no uptime promise. It runs on a mix of servers, best effort, with no SLA. The Small size (1 GB) is for very light tasks; browser work and large inputs can use up its memory.
  • Keep your own copy. On any run type, keep your own copy of anything important.

Frequently asked questions

Can I switch an agent between Classic, Flex and Flash?

No. You choose the run type when you create the agent, and you can't change it later.

What is the difference between Flex and Flash?

Flash: Resumes in about a second. Shared CPU. Pay for awake time and storage. Flex: Dedicated CPU. Wakes in under 2 minutes. Storage included. Both sleep when idle, are included in your plan and share its agent allowance.

How much does a Flash agent cost?

Awake time is Rp 150 per GB-hour: Small Rp 150, Medium Rp 300, and Large Rp 600 an hour. Storage is Rp 1,500 per GB-month on 5, 10, and 20 GB (Rp 7,500, Rp 15,000, and Rp 30,000 a month), charged for as long as the agent exists, awake or asleep.

What happens if I can't pay for Flash storage?

Usage is paid from plan Credits first. Balance pays only while pay-as-you-go is on, and it is off by default. With it off, Flash storage goes unpaid once Credits run out, and after 7 days unpaid the agent is suspended; its files are kept. Turning pay-as-you-go on, or adding funds while it is on, pays the debt and brings the agent back.

Does a Flex agent forget things when it sleeps?

No. Its files, memory, chat history, skills and settings are saved when it goes to sleep and restored when it wakes.

How many awake hours does Starter include?

About 30 hours a term for one agent: Rp 12,000 in Credits at Rp 400 an awake hour. Credits reset each 30-day term and don't carry over.

What happens when my Credits run out?

Flex agents sleep, unless you turn on pay-as-you-go. Then awake time is paid from your Balance, up to the monthly cap you set. Classic agents are not affected.

Does a Classic agent use my plan?

No. Classic agents are bought separately, from Rp 50,000 per 30 days, and never count against a plan.
